Gestalt Art Experience Workshop

My next Gestalt Art Experience Workshop will be held on 29th June 2025.

The workshop will be at Brisbane Visual Arts Community, Tarragindi, 10am to 4pm. We will use paint as well as other creative media.

Over the years I have developed many ways of practising Gestalt Art. Guided drawing, inspired by Cornelia Elbrecht’s work, deepens the work of Gestalt art. I have developed my practice to include this unique way of working to deepen contact with yourself and others. Join this workshop and experience more deeply the liveliness within, so that you can take your place more fully in relationships, family and community.

This workshop is for folk who want to further their journey of personal growth as well as counsellors, therapists and students, looking for practical ways to include art in their practice.

The full day workshop will include

  • Connecting deeply with intuitive embodied knowledge
  • Experiencing  new perspectives
  • Connecting with others
  • Using a variety of art materials including paint
  • No need for art experience

All materials are supplied.

Art Therapy Course for Counsellors

My next Art Therapy Course for Counsellors, Therapists and Mental health Workers is scheduled to begin on 10th March, 2025.

This course will be held online and offered over a four week period. The dates for the course are March 10th, March 17th and March 24th and March 31st, 2025. The course will run from 7:00pm to 9:00pm, AEST (GMT+10).

Art Therapy can be a valuable tool for therapists and counsellors for helping their clients individually or in groups.

Learning outcomes:

  • Understand how to work with creative materials in an embodied and sensory way with emphasis on presence and the process of art making.
  • How to work relationally with creative media.
  • Experience how art provides a way for individuals to express themselves in a nonverbal way, communicating feeling and experiences.
  • Understand and experience how art can heighten awareness, meaning making and consolidate the work of the therapy.

What to expect:

In this series of workshops I will give a brief introduction to art therapy and how I work. As my way of working is experiential and interactive, over the four week course I will guide you to ‘do’ art and invite you to share your experiences in small groups, as well as the larger group. There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and to learn how to enhance your own therapy practice with art.

This course is endorsed by PACFA for Category A 8 CPD hours.

This course is fully booked. My next course begins 18th August 2025.
